ATLANTA (Sept. 12, 2024) — Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP announced that Partner John I. Spangler III has been elected a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL). He will be among the 12 new fellows inducted at the 2025 ACCL Annual Meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida, from Feb. 13-16, 2025.

FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 9, 2024) — ECI Software Solutions, a global provider of cloud-based business management software and services, announced that Bolt, its trade contractor project management and scheduling software, has won the 2024 software-as-a-service (SaaS) Award for the "Best SaaS Product for Business Management" category.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2024) — Rosendin, a large, employee-owned electrical contracting company, announced Rob Moreno, senior vice president (SVP), as the new leader for Rosendin’s Renewable Energy Group (RREG). SVP and member of the senior leadership team, Moreno will oversee operations, drive expansion and lead strategic planning for RREG, a renewable energy group in the U.S.

BEDFORD, Mass. (Sept. 9, 2024) — The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI), issued by Dodge Construction Network, increased 2.9% in August to 220.4 from the revised July reading of 214.2. Over the month, commercial planning expanded 1.9% and institutional planning improved 5.7%.  

SUWANEE, Ga. (Sept. 6, 2024) — Develon celebrated the grand opening of the North American Customization Plant in Brunswick, Georgia, on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Executives from Develon Headquarters and North America and Wallenius Wilhelmsen attended the ceremony.

MONTREAL (Sept. 4, 2024) — CM Labs Simulations, a provider of simulation-based training in the utilities and construction industries, announced the launch of the Intellia Mini Excavator Simulator Training Pack. This new training pack is the first dedicated simulation training solution for mini excavator operator training.

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 4, 2024) — JLG Industries Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation business and a global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, announced that Oshkosh has completed the acquisition of AUSACORP S.L. (AUSA), adding the brand’s compact all-terrain machines for the transportation and material handling to the company’s Access segment.

WASHINGTON (Sept. 3, 2024) — National nonresidential construction spending decreased 0.2% in July, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data published today by the U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $1.21 trillion.

APOPKA, Fla. (Aug. 27, 2024) — KENPAT and its affiliated companies announced the appointment of Etienne Wolmarans as group president.

WASHINGTON (Aug. 23, 2024) — The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association’s (ELFA) Monthly Leasing and Finance Index (MLFI-25), a survey of economic activity from 25 companies representing a cross section of the $1 trillion equipment finance sector, reports that in July:
•    New business volume (NBV) was $11.1 billion, up 13% from July 2023.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Aug. 20, 2024) — Arcoro, an HR software company for the construction and field services industries, announced that Megan Stillerman has been appointed as chief customer officer (CCO). The appointment marks a first for Arcoro.

WASHINGTON (Aug. 13, 2024) — Construction input prices increased 0.4% in July compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index data released today. Nonresidential construction input prices also increased 0.4% for the month.

LIVERMORE, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2024) — Topcon Positioning Systems has announced that Ray O’Connor, president and CEO, will retire in September 2025 after over three decades of leadership. O’Connor will transition to the role of chairman of the Topcon Positioning Systems board of directors effective Sept. 1, 2024, providing guidance and support to the executive leadership team during this year of transition.

RACINE, Wis. (Aug. 14, 2024) — CASE Construction Equipment has expanded its electric (EV) toolbox for municipal crews, utility teams, urban construction and other contractors with the commercial release of its 580EV, the industry’s first electric backhoe loader. CASE’s EV backhoe loader will soon be followed by the commercial availability of two additional EV machines — the CX25EV 2.5-metric ton mini excavator and the CL36EV 3.6-metric ton compact wheel loader.

BEDFORD, Mass. (Aug. 7, 2024) — The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI), issued by Dodge Construction Network, increased 7.9% in July to 216.3 from the revised June reading of 200.5. Over the month, commercial planning increased by 6.8%, and institutional planning expanded by 11.1%.   

MOORE, S.C. (Aug.13, 2024) — Chris Burdette of Greenville, South Carolina, has been named director of operations at the Takeuchi-US compact track loader production facility in Moore, South Carolina.

CLEVELAND (July 31, 2024) — CBIZ Inc. a national provider of financial, insurance and advisory services, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the non-attest business of Marcum LLP, which will make CBIZ the seventh-largest accounting services provider in the U.S. with approximately $2.8 billion in annual revenue.

LINDON, Utah (Aug. 8, 2024) — PCF Insurance Services, a top 20 U.S. insurance brokerage, has acquired the insurance business of DLD Insurance Brokers, marking the company's ninth significant acquisition in 2024.

WASHINGTON (Aug. 2, 2024) — The construction industry added 25,000 jobs on net in July, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has expanded by 239,000 jobs, an increase of 3.0%.
