3. Training Of Trainers (TOT) Course conducted outside Kenya: This is a 10-days minimum intensive course, travelling days inclusive.  The course takes extra 3-days to cover more ground on practicals. The course has both theories and practical’s covering all aspects of ISSB production and basic insights on building construction using ISSB. This course is ideal for NGO’s and corporate organizations which invest in more than 1-block press and are involved in construction of many houses. The cost of the training package for a maximum of 12 participants is US$2,500. The Client must separately provide for travelling, accommodation and meals for COMAC Trainer when on site. The training is best conducted on site where the Client intends to use the technology. Training participants are awarded a COMAC certificate at the end of the training. 

4. Building with ISSB or SSB: This both a theoretical and practical training which takes a minimum of 15-days or as long as it may take to build a complete building using ISSB or SSB. The training is conducted after the Client has been trained on how to produce ISSB and is now ready to build with the blocks. ISSB requires special construction features such as confined masonry, use of columns and beams and special reinforcement around openings to prevent cracks caused by movement of the un-cemented ISSB after the building settlement. This course is ideal for organizations involved in large construction projects. The minimum cost for the 15-days construction training is US$2,750 in Kenya and US$3,750 outside Kenya. The Client is responsible for all travel, accommodation and meals for COMAC trainer while on site.

Training Objectives

All COMAC trainings have the following objectives:

1. To train and equip the training beneficiaries in all aspects of soil stabilization such as soil testing 

2. Train the trainees on how to operate the manual block presses safely, producing quality blocks without causing any injuries to the block press operators

3. Train the trainees in a systematic process of mass production of quality SSB, so as to achieve highest production possible per block press.

4. Equip the trainees with basic building construction considerations to be taken into account when building with ISSB

5. Equip the trainees with basic cost estimates on ISSB production and cost comparison with other building materials

Trainee’s Requirements

For the trainees to achieve maximum benefits from any of COMAC trainings, the training participants must a minimum of the qualifications below:

1. Must have a minimum of primary education

2. Important to have a building construction background such as civil engineering or masonry

3. Ability to train others
